Now that the Summer League is here, everybody around the NBA is keeping tabs on the San Antonio Spurs.
That’s why NBA insider Andrew Lopez wanted to let everybody know exactly what they want: Victor Wembanyama is on their Summer League roster.

All eyes will be set on this year’s No 1. pick, who’s expected to make his Summer League debut on Friday vs. Brandon Miller and the Charlotte Hornets in front of a sold-out crowd in Las Vegas.
Miller has been fairly erratic in his first two games of Summer League action, piling up a combined 15 personal fouls.
He’s shown flashes of his impressive playmaking and shot-making skills, but his evident defensive potential has yet to make an appearance.
As for Wembanyama, it’s likely that the Spurs will manage his minutes carefully.
He’s coming off a long season with the Metropolitans 92, even making it to the French League final, so he might still need some more time to restore and heal.
NBA Summer League games are somewhat meaningless, but the hype definitely isn’t.
A clip of Wembanyama missing several shots went viral in the blink of an eye, as there’s plenty of pressure on his shoulders after being deemed the greatest prospect in NBA history — even ahead of the likes of LeBron James.
So, as meaningless as this matchup between the No. 1 and No. 2 pick might seem at first glance, it might as well lead to countless narratives around the French prospect from now until the beginning of the season.
