The San Antonio Spurs made the easiest decision any NBA franchise could’ve ever made this year.
They had the No. 1 pick in the draft, and there wasn’t an ounce of doubt or potential debate about picking Victor Wembanyama.
Nonetheless, Spurs insider Jeff McDonald recently revealed that they were also quite high on Brandon Miller, citing that some within the organization even thought he could go on to become the next Kawhi Leonard.
I can tell you there are those in the Spurs organization who think he could be the next Kawhi. https://t.co/x7nOUVOe10

Of course, the Spurs had to do a lot of scouting before the NBA Draft lottery, as they were in line to get a top-five pick.
Miller drew rave reviews throughout the whole draft process, not only thanks to his unmatched shotmaking skills but also because of his impressive upside as a defender.
He became a bit of a laughingstock when he claimed that he modeled his game after his very own GOAT, Paul George, but there are some evident resemblances in their games, and George is actually an elite defender.
Projections are just words and numbers on pieces of paper, and plenty of things could go on to determine the fate and the career of a player in the league.
The Charlotte Hornets have also had some serious issues with player development, as opposed to organizations like the Spurs.
Hornets fans will hope Miller will fulfill his great potential, as it’s been quite a while since they been to the playoffs, and that combination with LaMelo Ball could be one of the most entertaining to watch for the next decade.
