The Los Angeles Rams may be in on the Baker Mayfield sweepstakes after all.
After Mayfield’s release from the Carolina Panthers, many teams have expressed interest.
Many teams view Mayfield as a rental, or a stop-gap for their team if they have an injured quarterback.
The Rams fit within those parameters.
I was told the Rams are looking into claiming Baker Mayfield. They're fourth in waiver priority—behind only the Texans, Bears and Broncos. https://t.co/MNJgd8p3wT

The Rams are currently without Matthew Stafford, who is likely out for the remainder of the season.
Why Mayfield Is A Good Fit For The Rams
If acquired, Mayfield would be able to start right away for the Rams.
Yes, he hasn’t had the best track record over the past few years, both with his on-field performances and off-field antics.
Mayfield would bring in what the Rams’ current backups do not possess: NFL experience.
He has been in the league since 2018, and seen many different defensive schemes, and worked with many different coaches, front offices, receiving weapons, and offensive lines.
Mayfield has proven to be resilient amid chaos.
In Cleveland, he had four different head coaches and was still able to perform as the Browns’ starter throughout the diverse and trying times that he had to endure.
If the Rams were to pick up Mayfield, Sean McVay and company would be able to start getting him acclimated with the team’s playbook, and building initial chemistry with his new teammates.
Will the Rams end up acquiring Mayfield?
Or, will he be picked up by another team?
The Mayfield sweepstakes will be made public soon.
