At the end of November and the beginning of December, the New Orleans Pelicans went on a strong run and secured a seven-game winning streak, against the likes of the Denver Nuggets, Toronto Raptors, Phoenix Suns, and others.
Zion Williamson was leading the team and posting more than 30 points a night at one time, again showing the power he could bring the Pels.
That led them to the top spot in the Western Conference and things were looking better than ever for the young, promising team.
Things have changed a lot and now New Orleans is 12th in their conference.

There really is no other way to summarize this season for the Pelicans: things started so well and have increasingly gotten worse and worse.
The Pelicans now have a 33-36 record and are clawing and fighting to get into the play-in games that start next month.
Anyone paying attention knows that the loss of Williamson has severely hurt the team and limited their success.
An injury to Brandon Ingram also didn’t help, although he is back now.
The fact that Williamson still hasn’t returned doesn’t give fans much hope.
Even if he were to re-enter the lineup before the playoffs, Williamson would have to get readjusted to playing with his team and be in prime physical form before the postseason.
The Pelicans made it to the playoffs last season despite being without Williamson and with the entire league counting them out.
Now the question is if they can do it again in a few weeks.
