The Denver Nuggets are for real.
They might not be the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference again this season, but that doesn’t mean they’re not as good as they’ve always been.
Perhaps the most impressive part about the Nuggets’ current run is the fact that they’re dominating the best players in the NBA.
As shown by OptaSTATS on Twitter, the Nuggets have gone 4-0 against Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors this season, and they’re 3-0 against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
That makes them the first team in NBA history to sweep 3+ games against two different multi-time MVPs in the same regular season.

Needless to say, the Warriors have struggled with injuries and inconsistency this season, and not even Curry’s solid performances have been enough to keep them afloat against the defending champions.
As for the Lakers, it appears they’re simply not talented enough to compete at a championship-caliber level at this moment, and Mike Malone has coached circles around Darvin Ham dating back to the playoffs.
Once again, it just seems like people are sleeping on the Nuggets or not giving them enough credit.
They already proved that overlooking them was a huge mistake last season, but it seems like people just haven’t learned their lesson yet.
