Over the past couple of years, the Denver Nuggets have completely owned LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s why it was only natural to see them taking it upon themselves to make sure to spoil James’ 40,000-point party.
Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr., and Jamal Murray took over the game late to erase a big deficit and seal a double-digit win at Crypto.com Arena.
Following the win, the Canadian sharpshooter claimed that they just wanted to drain the life out of the arena (via Vic Lombardi).
Jamal Murray. So good.

That’s the kind of competitor Murray has always been.
Bruce Brown Jr. did a lot of trash-talking last season, and while he’s no longer on the team, the animosity remains.
Coach Mike Malone also took a big shot at LeBron James during their championship-winning parade, mocking him for trying to use a retirement narrative to drive attention away from the fact that they had been swept in the Western Conference Finals.
Needless to say, the Lakers haven’t forgotten about that either, but they just can’t seem to crack the Nikola Jokic code.
The Nuggets are saving the best for last, and while they haven’t been as good as they were last season, they’re still the reigning NBA champions.
You definitely don’t want to come across them in a seven-game series, especially if you’re Darvin Ham.
