One thing NFL fans look forward to before the regular season starts is the HBO series “Hard Knocks,” which follows one team around throughout training camp.
The series not only focuses on developments on the field, but also highlights players’ personal lives off the field, especially those who are rookies or longshots to make the final roster.
Normally, by early summer the league announces which team will be featured on the series, but this year, no formal announcement has been made yet, as noted by Ari Meirov.
The NFL has never gone this far into an offseason without announcing which team will be featured on Hard Knocks.
Previous announcement dates:
2022: March 28 (Lions)
2021: July 2 (Cowboys)
2020: April 7 (Chargers/Rams)
2019: June 11 (Raiders)
2018: May 17 (Browns)

The one team that many want to see featured on “Hard Knocks” this year is the New York Jets.
It’s no wonder why, as the talented but polarizing future Hall-of-Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is now a member of the team, and they feature a number of young and productive players on both sides of the football.
However, head coach Robert Saleh has indicated more than once he isn’t interested in having his team on the series.
Regardless, the Jets are reportedly preparing to be covered on “Hard Knocks” even though they would rather not.
On the other hand, the Detroit Lions, the team featured on the series last year, have reportedly communicated with NFL Films about doing the show once again this summer.
Many are picking the Lions to finish first in the NFC North, as they were red-hot during the second half of the 2022 campaign and feature a young and rising stud wide receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown and a promising prospect in defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson.
