After weeks of controversy and bad headlines, the Brooklyn Nets just made a choice that will surely not upset anyone – except Ime Udoka.
The team announced that Jacque Vaughn will be the new permanent head coach of the team.

Vaughn has been part of the team for a few years now, first joining in 2016 as an assistant.
Following Kenny Atkinson’s departure, Vaughn became the interim head coach for a while until Steve Nash was hired, leading Vaughn back to his assistant coach position.
Of course, Vaughn stepped up to lead the squad a few weeks ago when Nash was fired.
Yet, few people thought he’d get the job on a more permanent basis so this promotion is a big deal for both him and a team that is still in the midst of a lot of trouble.
Calling Upon Vaughn
When Nash was fired from the team, the immediate rumors said that Udoka would take over for him.
That choice was met with a swift negative response from many who were upset that Udoka could get another job in the league after being suspended just weeks before by the Celtics.
As for Vaughn, he avoided all the controversy and focused on making the team better.
While the Nets are still in bad shape, they scored a couple of good wins since Vaughn took over as interim coach.
He obviously has a strong relationship with the guys on the team, including Kevin Durant, who seems quite fond of his new coach.
Now that this decision has been made, the team can focus on getting better and handling the never-ending drama around Kyrie Irving.
Vaughn has a lot on his plate and a huge challenge ahead but he’s been loyal to the team for years and is ready to give it his best shot.
