It’s been a wild season for the Miami Heat, with more ups and downs than Erik Spoelstra has been used to over the years.
The Heat swung for the fences trying to land a superstar in the offseason but to no avail.
They tried to run it back with their current roster, but they’re not getting any younger or any healthier by any means.
So, with the most crucial stretch of the season still ahead of them, Pat Riley might be working around the clock to try and get some deals done right now.
With that in mind, Heat beat writer Greg Sylvander states that they continue to be interested in Boston Celtics’ Grant Williams, who’ll become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.

Williams has been quite the valuable asset for Joe Mazzula’s team, and his two-way versatility as a combo forward could come in quite handily for Spoelstra, especially after losing P.J. Tucker to the Philadelphia 76ers in the offseason.
But then again, whether Brad Stevens will want to engage with a direct rival like the Heat for any transaction remains to be seen.
Moreover, now that Kyrie Irving is gone from Brooklyn, the Heat will most likely reignite their interest in trading for Kevin Durant, meaning they won’t rush to make any moves before that.
Whatever the case, Williams’ future in the league may not be in Boston, so he’ll be a name to keep an eye on as we approach the trade deadline.
