Fans like to go to the stadium to support their team.
When that team is winning, there is more interest by supporters to go to the park.
But competitiveness is not the only situation or factor taking people to the stadium.
When the ballpark is spacious, comfortable, modern, clean, attractive, and has lots of foods and drinks stands, cool places and other interesting things, people will go, too.
Citi Field, the home of the New York Mets, is a modern park and fits the aforementioned criteria.
They also added a new scoreboard that is nothing short of amazing.
“The @Mets new scoreboard is 17,000 square feet,” Darren Rovell tweeted.

Look at the size of that thing.
It’s enormous!
It doesn’t interfere with anybody’s visuals, and is an excellent supporting asset to assist fans who want to watch the current batter/pitcher matchup and other useful stats.
Once again, the Mets are doing everything in their power to attract people to their stadium.
It usually pays off, because they have been extremely competitive in the last couple of years.
They collapsed in 2021 after a nice start, but they did make the playoffs last year despite losing the NL East lead in the final week and falling at the hands of the San Diego Padres in the Wild Card round.
Overall, fan experience has improved under Steve Cohen: the Old Timer’s Day, lots of bobblehead and theme nights, a better stadium, a much more competitive team, and many more things and situations.
We are sure the new scoreboard can’t hurt.
