The Detroit Lions outscored the Philadelphia Eagles in the fourth quarter of their Week 1 game, 14-0.
Unfortunately, that was not enough to give them victory.
Once again, the Lions fell short of a win like many times last season.
The time for moral victories is over for head coach Dan Campbell and he must turn the squad into winners.
But while triumphs remain elusive for Detroit, they still have an opportunity to maintain an active streak.

The Lions’ Public Relations Department tweeted, “Dating back to last season, the @Lions have scored touchdowns in 11 consecutive quarters, which is the longest active streak in the @NFL and a new franchise record.”
Aside from crossing the end zone in all four quarters against Philadelphia, they also did the same in their 2021 season finale versus the Green Bay Packers.
They also had four touchdowns in a 51-29 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17.
But more than the consistent scoring, the Lions want to win.
The Washington Commanders are standing in their path to victory in Week 2 of 2022.
The Commanders are riding high after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2.
If the Lions are to win, they must reduce Carson Wentz‘s touchdown passes.
Lions Have The Heart, Not The Finishing Touch
Their shortcomings in Week 1 mirror their performance during their season opener last year.
They outscored the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth quarter, 16-3, but came up short, 41-33.
Coming from behind is a difficult way to win in the NFL and they haven’t had much success from it.
It also doesn’t help that key players like D’Andre Swift, Frank Ragnow, Michael Brockers, and Julian Okwara are nursing injuries.
It’s time for them to dig deep and compete throughout the game.
