The Los Angeles Lakers are one team that wants to be aggressive in free agency.
They understand their championship window is small with LeBron James nearing the end of his career.
So adding as much talent as possible around James is what the Lakers’ front office is hoping to do.
To do that they need to clear up some cap space.
They did just that by moving on from one of their backup centers.
According to Jake Fischer, the Lakers are waiving Mo Bamba.

This should not come as a surprise as the Lakers were never going to pay Bamba $10.3 million guaranteed.
Bamba is a former first-round pick who cannot seem to stay on the floor.
The most games he has played in a season was 71, which was with the Orlando Magic back in 2021-22.
Yet he can still be a valuable piece off the bench for a contending team.
He is 7-feet tall and has a long wingspan, and he causes major issues for opponents around the rim.
Bamba is still only 25 years old and has plenty of good basketball ahead of him.
He also can spread the floor and knock down some outside shots.
It would not be a surprise to see him sign a one-year “prove-it” deal with a team.
He needs to show that he can stay healthy and contribute for a full season.
Ultimately, the Lakers are looking for a big fish in free agency which is why Bamba had to go.
But he should have no trouble finding a new home once free agency begins on Friday.
