The Knicks Show Off Their Newest Star

The New York Knicks had a really bad 2021-22 NBA season.

Despite doing quite well the year before, the team experienced something of a collapse last season and ended the year in 11th place in the East with a record of 37-45.

It was quite a fall from grace and something the front office is desperately trying to avoid again.

As part of their quest to make things right, the Knicks swung for the fences during free agency this year.

They spent just over $100 million to sign Jalen Brunson, formerly of the Dallas Mavericks, to a four-year deal.

And now fans are finally seeing Brunson in his new outfit – and they’re liking what they see.

The images of Brunson show a young, talented, and driven athlete who could be the future of the team.

But he could also end up being an expensive letdown.

Brunson Bringing It

Brunson had a breakout season with the Mavs, averaging 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.8 assists.

That was a major step up from his previous three seasons and really put him on the radar of many other teams and fans.

The Knicks saw what Brunson was doing and immediately fell in love.

But is Brunson ready to lead a team like the Knicks?

He did very well in Dallas but was more of a supporting player behind Luka Doncic.

Now he will be front-and-center and a formative part of New York’s offense.

That’s a lot of pressure to put on the New Jersey native.

But the Knicks believe that Brunson is just one piece of a bigger picture and they’re willing to put their faith – and a lot of money – into him.
