It is hard to keep track of all the changes and moves in the NBA before the trade deadline but right now Russell Westbrook is a member of the Utah Jazz.
Westbrook was sent to the Jazz on Wednesday night as part of a three-team deal.
But NBA insiders said that Westbrook would likely be bought out by the Jazz, meaning he’d never play a game for Utah.
However, if the Jazz wanted to they could send Westbrook away and greatly help out the Brooklyn Nets with one of their biggest problems.
Of course, they would get something in return too.

As pointed out on Twitter, the Jazz could entice the Nets to send them Mikal Bridges if they are willing to accept Ben Simmons and his contract.
In exchange for that, the Nets could receive Westbrook, Kelly Olynyk, and a few first-round draft picks as well.
The Jazz currently have an excess of draft picks so losing a few of them for a star like Bridges wouldn’t be too rough.
No one knows what they would do with Simmons in this case and he could face a buyout.
A trade to the Jazz would likely be very good for the player because he has worn out his welcome with the Nets.
The former All-Star has not delivered in Brooklyn and it was clear that he could be nearing the end of his time there.
Maybe he would find more luck with the Jazz.
We don’t know if this deal or any for Simmons will come together because he is not in high demand right now.
But the Nets definitely want to move him as soon as they can.
They are attempting to create a path forward after a wild week and they don’t see Simmons as part of that.
