The Cleveland Guardians got a big boost early in the season from rookie outfielder Steven Kwan, but he isn’t the only young stud making a name for himself with the Guardians.
Another one has emerged as well.
This time, it’s outfielder Oscar Gonzalez, who was called up to the big-league team in late May.
Since being called up, all he has done is hit.
The Guardians are a young team that is getting key contributions from their young players.
Guardians writer Ryan Lewis tweeted about how hot Gonzalez is.
Last night, he picked up four hits and his batting average rose up to .404.
Oscar Gonzalez has his fourth hit of the night and is now hitting .404 since being called up.

A Hot Start
What a way to start your career if you’re Gonzalez.
The Guardians are clearly doing something right with the way they draft and develop young players.
Manager Terry Francona is also one of the better managers the game has ever seen, and he is good at finding roles for young players who are ready to make an impact.
He’s done just that with guys like Gonzalez and Kwan.
Gonzalez has had just 52 plate appearances thus far in his MLB career since being called up, yet he is already hitting above .400.
Not to mention, he’s got a .934 OPS as well.
The Guardians have done a good job finding these young players and giving them a chance to do some damage.
Gonzalez has taken his opportunity and run with it to this point.
His emergence is a big reason why the Guardians have been playing a lot better lately.
They had fallen behind in the AL Wild Card race, but now, they sit just a half-game behind the Boston Red Sox for the final spot.
We’ll see how many other young studs get their chance in Cleveland this year.
