The Arizona Diamondbacks are one of the biggest surprises of the MLB season so far.
Not many people expected them to compete this year.
But through the first 57 games, the Diamondbacks are one of the best teams in baseball.
Their 34-23 record is tied for the best in the National League.
Both the Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers have the same record atop the NL West.
The start of this season has the Diamondbacks making some team history.
According to Sarah Langs, this is the fifth season where the Diamondbacks have the best record in the NL more than 50 games into the season.
this is the 5th season where the Diamondbacks have had the best record in NL (or tied for best) at any point more than 50 games into season, along with:
2007
2002

The Diamondbacks are not a team with many big names, but they have a bunch of players that contribute.
Many people are still expecting this D-Backs team to come back to the pack.
But, it appears as if that will not be happening anytime soon.
Two of the best players on the Diamondbacks are making a case to be All-Stars this year.
That is starting pitcher Zac Gallen and outfielder Corbin Carroll.
Gallen is one of the favorites for the NL Cy Young so far this year.
He has thrown 72.2 innings with 82 strikeouts, and a 2.72 ERA.
Also, his seven wins this season are tied for first in the NL.
As for Carroll, he is a rookie but is not playing like it.
Carroll was the top prospect in baseball last year, and he is showing why.
He is batting .287 with nine home runs, 24 RBI, and 16 stolen bases on the year.
Carroll is the favorite for NL Rookie of the Year and he has a great shot to make the All-Star team.
