The Indianapolis Colts ended the 2022 NFL season with a 4-12-1 record, which underwhelmed their preseason expectations.
While there is often not a lot of pressure to perform well as an interim, Saturday was unable to turn the team around, resulting in the team’s interest in pursuing other options.
However, it appears that last night, Saturday was given a final chance to plead his case to the Colts organization.

Did Saturday do enough in his time as the interim coach to give the Colts any reason to hire him back?
If you ask Colts fans, they would likely say no, no he did not.
In the eight games that Saturday was the head coach of the Colts this season, he led the team to a 1-7 record.
Although Saturday was able to pull out the victory in his first game as coach, the team ended up losing their final seven games of the season en route to the fourth overall draft pick.
The good news for the Colts is that several quarterback prospects will be available when they pick fourth.
Some might say that Saturday did his job well, putting the Colts into a prime position to select their quarterback of the future.
In the coming weeks, we will learn who Jim Irsay and the Colts will decide on as their newest head coach.
Will Saturday be able to differentiate himself from the other candidates?
