Derek Carr came out with an announcement earlier this week that he would not be returning to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Whenever a player of Carr’s tenure and stature in the league announces this, it can cause fans of a particular organization to beat the drum for that player, especially if they are unsure of the status of their current quarterback.
One such team is the Indianapolis Colts.
However, one of their top insiders quickly put any Carr rumors to bed.
Since some are still asking, no, the Colts are **not** trading for Derek Carr https://t.co/LZ5ETa5cQQ

Despite preseason expectations, Matt Ryan was not the answer for the Colts offense this season, as the team compiled a record of just 4-12-1, their worst since 2011 when the team went 2-14.
The Colts franchise and their fanbase are clamoring for a change at quarterback, but it appears that Carr will not be their solution, at least in the eyes of one of their reporters.
The good news for the Colts is that they have the number four overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
Should they decide to move on from Ryan for good, the Colts will have an excellent opportunity to draft the quarterback of the future.
This year’s draft class is said to be full of elite quarterback prospects and should be considerably better than the 2022 quarterback class.
Surrounded with offensive weapons like Michael Pittman Jr, Jonathan Taylor, and Parris Campbell, the next quarterback for the Colts will have plenty to work with at their disposal.
What direction will the Colts ultimately decide to go in for the 2023 season?
