There has been little to joke about for the Denver Broncos since their disastrous 2022-23 NFL season.
The season saw them trading a haul of draft picks and players for quarterback Russell Wilson.
While the Broncos got him to help their team, his presence on the field did little to help them win games.
However, some feel the issue was with their rookie head coach, who made plenty of mistakes with play calls and clock management.
While Nathaniel Hackett is out as the team’s head coach, former head coach Sean Payton steps into the position.
With his arrival, the Broncos Twitter account posted a meme to welcome the newest “Payton” to join the team.

The meme refers to the three people who are part of the Broncos franchise that share a similar sounding name.
Their “Peyton” refers to former quarterback Peyton Manning.
While Manning came into the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, he became a Bronco and led them to a Super Bowl championship.
The team’s “Payton” is clearly Sean Payton, the man taking over for Hackett as their new head coach.
However, people outside of Denver might not know who the “Paton” is in the Spider-Man meme.
This person is none other than the team’s general manager, George Paton.
With all three names under a different Spider-Man, and pointing at each other, it seems like a lighthearted joke.
However, if the 2023 season becomes an issue for the Broncos, the finger pointing might become a reality.
But with Payton on the scene, they hope he can help Wilson return to the elite quarterback fans saw during his time in Seattle.
