The Houston Astros are entering the 2023 season with targets on their backs as defending World Series champions.
Though the team has been relatively quiet this winter, save for the signing of Jose Abreu, they remain one of the elite teams in all of Major League Baseball.
With stars such as Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, Jeremy Pena, Kyle Tucker, and Yordan Alvarez, the lineup is looking as strong as ever.
Couple that with the addition of Abreu and you have a championship-caliber lineup, one that could carry the Astros deep into October once again.
On Twitter, MLB Network posted a screenshot of their projected lineup for the ‘Stros.

Once again, the Astros are stacked on the offensive side.
Abreu may have been their only addition, but it was a frugal move and one that should benefit them a great deal.
Michael Brantley is also returning and will likely fill the designated hitter role in 2023.
Chas McCormick cannot be overlooked either.
Interestingly enough, a lot of these players are homegrown, which speaks to the Astros’ ability to identify young talent, drafting and developing solid players.
Altuve, Alvarez, Bregman, McCormick, Tucker, and Pena each came from within the system and now are key pieces to their team.
Pena of course, was the ALCS and World Series MVP.
But Houston has assembled a strong lineup, which can be considered one of the best in all of baseball.
Now, they’ll look to repeat their success and make yet another run at a World Series title.
