The 2022 MLB season was almost a miracle.
After threats of cancelling games and losing money, the league and players agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement and we were able to enjoy an exciting campaign in which the Houston Astros proved, once again, that they are in a class of their own.
For the upcoming 2023 campaign, however, teams, players and fans will have a more normal spring schedule, with the certainty that there will be baseball games played this month.
Yes: the Astros themselves were kind enough to send out a reminder that we will get to watch some games in late February as part of the spring training calendar.

Those pictures take us back to October, and the excellent World Series that the Astros and the Philadelphia Phillies played.
When Houston got the last out, people at Minute Maid Park celebrated and partied with legitimate happiness.
In a matter of days, all fans will celebrate the return of baseball: we are now 10 days away from pitchers and catchers reporting to camp.
The first exhibition games will be played on February 24, about three weeks from today.
A few days after that, the World Baseball Classic will take place from March 8 to March 21.
Then, the regular season will start with all 30 teams on the field on March 30.
It’s a wonderful time to be a baseball fan: after so many weeks waiting, baseball is officially around the corner.
We couldn’t be more excited about it.
Will the Astros retain their title?
That’s a good question.
We will find out eventually.
For now, let’s savor these days.
