In a tweet with an image of Harden and one simple word – “tomorrow” – the 76ers issued a warning to the rest of the NBA: a new era for the 76ers has arrived.
But will he be the difference-maker the team is hoping for or will this be another instance of him and his team falling short?
Harden On The Hardwood
Harden hasn’t played a game since he was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the 76ers due to a hamstring injury.
But now that it’s cleared up, Harden is ready to return to the floor and show Philly fans why the team wanted him so much.
A lot is riding on Harden in Philadelphia.
The team is doing better than it has in years but their ultimate goal is clear: they want to win an NBA title.
That’s also Harden’s goal – and has been for a long time.
Throughout his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, and Nets, Harden has been anxious to win his first ring.
For a player at his level, winning the NBA Finals is the most important thing.
It seemed like he’d come close when he was with Brooklyn but he grew unhappy there after less than a year.
So now Harden is taking his quest for Finals victory to Philly.
He is once again set up for a good chance of winning a championship – especially with rock star teammates like Joel Embiid on his side.
If the 76ers can’t win it all with this lineup then they might not ever be able to.
