The saga of Ben Simmons on the Philadelphia 76ers is finally over as the player has finally departed the team for the Brooklyn Nets after months and months of being unhappy and wanting to leave.
Simmons’ displeasure with the team was no secret and everyone knew how unhappy he was.
But now that Simmons is gone, a lot of the behind-the-scenes drama is coming to the surface.

76ers big man Joel Embiid spoke out about the relationship he had with Simmons and it sounds like things were really, truly, painfully bad.
Here’s how Embiid summed it up:
“I did a lot of chasing around. Try to get him back and try to make him feel comfortable again. It was tough. I didn’t care.”
Embiid’s insight into the drama ensures that tensions between the 76ers fans and their former star player will only grow.
End Of The Road
Throughout much of this season, the 76ers team and coaches were mostly quiet about what was going on with Simmons.
The press was commenting a lot about what was going on with Simmons and the front office but the players stayed mum about it all.
Embiid’s comments are some of the frankest and most honest we have heard from anyone inside the team.
They prove that Simmons was checked out from the team for quite a while and no one would have been able to change his mind.
It just goes to show that there was literally no chance to get him back.
It also goes to show that the 76ers made the best of a bad situation since they ended up getting James Harden out of this huge mess.
All of this makes one wonder just how loud the boos will be when Simmons finally steps back on the Philly home court.
