It’s been a while since the San Francisco 49ers last took the Vince Lombardi trophy home.
Despite being a perennial contender, the team of the Bay Area hasn’t been able to win a Super Bowl since 1994, when legendary QB Steve Young led them to a 49-26 win over the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers.
However, the Niners have still won multiple playoff games more often than not over the years, which is why they’re tied with the Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Dallas Cowboys for the second-most postseason wins in NFL history (36).
So, with a win in the NFC Championship Game over the Philadelphia Eagles, the Niners would be getting more than just another Super Bowl trip.
Unsurprisingly, the New England Patriots sit at the top spot with 37 wins, mostly from the Tom Brady era and their six Super Bowl wins on nine attempts.

So, beating either the Kansas City Chiefs or Cincinnati Bengals on the ultimate stage would put them in the first place.
The Niners have been quite close to winning the ultimate prize multiple times over the past decade, with the Baltimore Ravens beating them in 2012, and the Kansas City Chiefs later in 2019.
Throughout their history, the Niners have won an NFC-best five Super Bowls, and they only need one more to tie the Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers for the most all-time.
Nonetheless, they’ll need to get past Jalen Hurts and the first-seeded Eagles on the road first, and that will be way easier said than done.
