The 2023 NFL Draft was quite a success for the Houston Texans.
Not only did they manage to land their future franchise quarterback with C.J. Stroud, but they also paired him with a potential generational defensive force in Will Anderson Jr.
And now that the fans already knew who was going to suit up for them, the only thing remaining was to know what number they would wear on their jerseys.
According to a post by the franchise’s social media team, Stroud will be their new No. 7.

The Ohio State product will wear the very same number he wore during his days in college.
Anderson, the third pick in this year’s class, will wear No. 51, while fellow DL Dylan Horton will sport No. 92.
WR Tank Dell will rock No. 13, while WR Xavier Hutchinson wears No. 19.
DB Brandon Hill will wear No. 36, and LB Henry To’oto’o will be the Texans’ new No. 39.
Last, but not least, offensive linemen Jarrett Patterson and Juice Scruggs will sport No. 68 and 70, respectively.
The Texans will hold their rookie minicamp starting on Friday at the Houston Texans Methodist Training Center and NRG Stadium, and it’s officially the dawn of a new era for a franchise that hasn’t fared all that well as of late.
The Texans might still need a year or two before taking that leap forward and competing at the highest level again, but they sure took several steps in the right direction this offseason.
