The Golden State Warriors struck gold with Stephen Curry, but it’s not like they were always entirely sold on him.
Curry was an afterthought early in his playing career, barely getting any national attention out of high school and slipping all the way to the seventh spot in the NBA Draft.
Even in the NBA, the Warriors were close to trading him to the Milwaukee Bucks to keep Monta Ellis, but even the Bucks didn’t want him out of concern with his ankles.
Seth Curry‘s path to the NBA was even more complicated.
Following a college career at Liberty and Duke, the younger Curry brother spent most of the time in the G-League, and he was even ready to give up on his NBA dream and play overseas before he finally caught a break.
That only speaks volumes about the fact that having a former NBA player as your father won’t guarantee you anything in this league.
The Currys were well-known among NBA ranks after Dell Curry‘s remarkable career, yet they had to work their way to the top.
Now, they can brag about holding a remarkable — and most likely unbreakable — NBA record: The most three-pointers scored by an NBA family (5,305).

Unsurprisingly, Steph leads the way with 3,274 triples on 42.7% shooting, followed by Seth’s 1,808 on 43.8%, and then Dell with 1,245 on 40.2% from the floor.
To put in context how much basketball has changed over the years, Steph has made nearly more threes than his father ever attempted (3,805).
But regardless of the era, the team, the role, and the rival, one thing’s for sure: The Currys will make it rain.
