The San Francisco 49ers ended the 2022 season on a hot streak, winning their last 10 regular season games.
This was largely due to the emergence of Brock Purdy, as the rookie QB helped them get to the NFC Championship.
While they lost that game, they enter 2023 with similar aspirations, this time, to make it all the way.
Several teams stand in between the 49ers and their chances at a Super Bowl title, including their Week 1 opponent.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have received a lot of praise throughout the offseason, a team that could surprise many in the AFC.
Ahead of this matchup, Patrick Peterson believes the Steelers will shut down the 49ers’ offense.
In fact, according to a recent statement on his podcast via David Lombardi, Peterson said, “When I get my pick Sunday, we’ll talk about it.
Patrick Peterson predicted he'll pick off Brock Purdy in Pittsburgh on the "All Things Covered" podcast:
“There is some tell signs out there that tells us what plays we’re gonna get from those guys in certain situations. … When I get my pick Sunday, we’ll talk about it."

Peterson predicts that he’ll get an interception off Purdy in their matchup, starting his season off on the wrong foot.
He is a long-time NFL veteran, known for locking down opposing wide receivers and creating a nightmare for quarterbacks.
As the Steelers look to have an improved season this year, they’ll hope to get off to a hot start against the 49ers.
Picking off Purdy could be a step in the right direction for their season.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see if this prediction comes to fruition in what should be a hard-nosed battle between two top defenses.
Can the Steelers’ defense overpower Purdy and the offense, resulting in a Week 1 victory?
