The Pittsburgh Steelers have been able to remain one of the better defensive units in the NFL thanks to Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick spent the first full season of his career with the Miami Dolphins who eventually traded him to the Steelers after Week 2 during the 2019 season.
The safety felt like he was playing out of position with Miami but he quickly found a home in Pittsburgh where he’s turned himself into one of the best players at his position.
Entering the 2023 season, the Steelers are up against it as the AFC North has several Super Bowl hopefuls in the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh’s got a young roster headlined by Kenny Pickett, but Fitzpatrick remains a key cog for the defense.
The veteran is a stabilizing presence in the locker room and has done his best to uphold the franchise’s honor as evidenced by him trying to keep the team logo clean, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN.
“Something as small as keeping our logo clean, it’s simple, but it means a lot,” Fitzpatrick said.
Minkah Fitzpatrick was tired of seeing the footprints on the Steelers’ locker room logo, so he did something about it.
Without fanfare, he added stanchions to rope it off.

While it might not seem like a lot on paper, Fitzpatrick understands that the little details matter and that should send a message to his teammates that they should care about the organization and its goals.
Something as simple as keeping a logo clean can go a long way in motivating a team as well as keeping them focused on the task at hand.
Although Pittsburgh may struggle to compete with the rest of the conference this year, they should take solace in the fact that they’ve got a quality leader in Fitzpatrick.
