The New York Yankees are starting to find their groove again after a tough start to the season.
On Tuesday night, they picked up an impressed comeback victory over the Baltimore Orioles, which ended with a walk-off by rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe.
However, Aaron Judge also provided some heroics, tying the game at five runs apiece in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Judge is of course coming off of a season in which he won the American League MVP Award and broke the AL single-season home run record that was previously held by Roger Maris.
But Judge swinging a hot bat is nothing new.
In fact, dating back to the 2021 season, he has posted some truly impressive numbers at the plate.
Aaron Judge’s MLB ranks since 2021:
19.1 fWAR — 1st
180 wRC+ — 1st
115 HR — 1st
.620 SLG — 1st
1.020 OPS — 1st
.425 wOBA — 1st
262 RBI — 2nd
175 XBH — 2nd
254 R — 3rd
.400 OBP — T-3rd
14.1 BB% — 5th
.299 AVG — 6th pic.twitter.com/VfiVENphl8— YankeesMuse (@YankeesMuse) May 24, 2023
Since the start of the 2021 season, Judge leads several important categories, including fWAR, wRC+, home runs, slugging percentage, OPS, and weighted on-base average.
He has slugged .620 since then and has hit 115 home runs, while also posting a 1.020 OPS.
His 2022 season certainly helped some with that, as he slugged his way to the AL MVP Award.
In addition, Judge is second in RBI with 262 and second in extra-base hits with 175, while also ranking in third place in runs scored with 254, tied for third with a .400 on-base percentage, fifth in walk rate, and sixth in batting average with a .299 clip.
Needless to say, Judge has simply been on another level since the start of the 2021 season, and he is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon as he continues his run of dominance with the Yankees.
