You probably don’t need us to say this, but the New York Yankees offense is much, much better when Aaron Judge is involved.
He was forced to miss 10 games with a mild hip strain, in late-April and early-May.
While he was gone, the Yanks’ lineup produced just 3.7 runs per game.
Since he returned on May 9, the offense has produced more than six runs per contest.
The difference when he is around is noticeable.
An MLB insider noted how important it is for the Yankees to get an RBI from Judge.
It actually has a great impact on them winning games.
“The greatness of #Yankees MVP Aaron Judge: Since making his #MLB debut Aug. 13, 2016, Judge has produced an RBI in 40.7% of his games. The Yankees are 224-88 when he has an RBI, a .718 winning percentage. They are 236-219 when he doesn’t drive in a run, a .519 winning percentage,” Bob Nightengale tweeted.

RBI are not particularly useful to predict future performance or hitting ability, but they tells us some things.
The more skilled and powerful a player is, the more RBI he is likely to accumulate.
When it comes to skilled and powerful hitters in MLB, few can compare to Judge.
He is already up to a .298/.400/.652 line and 14 home runs, and that’s while missing multiple games with his hip ailment.
He is a monster, and looks primed to make another run at the MVP award in the American League.
