Jimmy Butler received nothing but negative headlines for weeks as his drama with the Miami Heat escalated.
But lately, Butler has been getting attention for another reason: he’s been playing legitimately good basketball.
Hoop Central dug into the numbers from his first four games with the Golden State Warriors, and there is a lot to like.
In his first game with the Warriors, he scored 25 points, four assists, and two rebounds.
That was followed by a match with 20 points, six assists, and nine rebounds.
After that, Butler scored 21 points, seven assists, and nine rebounds.
On Thursday night, Butler posted 19 points, four assists, and eight rebounds.
During this strong stretch of games, the Warriors have gone 3-1.

It’s too soon to tell, but it looks like Butler is exactly what the Warriors needed.
They are still in a tough spot and sit as the 10th seed with a 28-27 record.
But it looks like they have been trending in the right direction over the last four games.
Butler’s final chapter with Miami was so chaotic and messy that a lot of people stopped looking at him as a truly competitive player.
However, these four performances are great proof that he still has a lot of fight left in him and can be a major help to the Warriors.
It is imperative that Butler keeps playing like this because the Warriors are still in a pretty deep hole in the West.
If they want to achieve any sort of postseason success, they need Butler to keep it up, and everyone else needs to play at 100 percent too.
