Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James set another NBA record last night.
But, this one was a monumental achievement that he has been chasing his entire career.
James surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points in NBA history.
His third-quarter fadeaway jump shot was the 38,387th and 38,388th points of his career.
This achievement was a long time coming for James, and many people saw it coming.
Now, this record has brought back the talk about who is the NBA GOAT.
For most people, it comes down to two names, Michael Jordan and LeBron James.
Fox Sports personality Skip Bayless will not budge on his view of the GOAT.
Is LeBron now the GOAT after becoming the all-time leading scorer?

Bayless stays steadfast on the fact that Jordan is the NBA GOAT.
He mentions how this record did not make LeBron the GOAT because he played so much longer than Jordan.
The scoring record is a longevity award, and Jordan did not want to play basketball as long as James.
Jordan instead wanted to play baseball and even retired for three years before returning to the NBA.
Also, Bayless mentioned how Jordan was a much better defensive player.
Jordan made nine first-team All-Defensive teams, to James only making five.
Also, the six NBA championships for Jordan trump James’ four.
Depending on which player you like more, you can make a strong case for either side.
The one factor James still has going for him is that he is still playing.
He can continue to add to his legacy over the next few seasons.
But, when it comes to stats, James has accomplished just about everything.
He will need another championship or two for people to view him any differently.
