The move of Patrick Beverley to the Los Angeles Lakers really took many by surprise.
But sometimes wild trades happen in the NBA and players you would never imagine suited up in certain jerseys are forced to play for new teams.
That’s the case here: most people didn’t expect Beverley to play for the Lakers but he is about to take to the court in purple and gold for the first time in his career.
This could be a little bit awkward.
That is because Beverley has said some accusatory think about Lakers star Russell Westbrook in the past – more than once.
And now he has to play alongside him.
Skip Bayless had a field day with this trade.
PatBev to the Lakers? The bad blood between him and Westbrook dates back a decade. And now he'll take some of Westbrook's minutes? This is better than WWE. It's now "SideShowtime."

Does Bayless actually have a point?

He’s not entirely wrong: there could be a little adjustment period between these two players.
Sure, there has been bad blood in the past but it is in the past.
Additionally, Bayless seems to forget that both Beverley and Westbrook are professionals.
They are able to put things aside and work through their differences, no matter how stark they were.
This isn’t the first time two players have had to perform alongside each other.
They can make peace for the greater good and they ultimately might even be better because of what’s come before.
Here is one thing Beverley and Westbrook have in common: they both have a strong desire to win.
