The biggest blowout in Week 1 took place in the NFC East, with the Dallas Cowboys destroying the division rival New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, making for a stellar start for America’s Team and New York scrambling to look for a solution to their problems moving forward.
After the dust settled on this 40-0 blowout, Cowboys superstar linebacker Micah Parsons talked about the Giants keeping starting quarterback Daniel Jones in the game even when the game was entirely out of hand for New York.
Parsons criticized the Giants coaching staff for keeping Jones in the game and risking his health for the rest of the season, which is an interesting statement coming from the star tasked with stopping the Giants quarterback.
However, Skip Bayless, who is a well-known Cowboys fan, felt that Parsons should’ve been criticizing his head coach in Mike McCarthy for keeping the team’s starting offense on the field heading into the fourth quarter on Sunday night, via “Undisputed.”
I wish Micah had criticized his own coach in Mike McCarthy because my 1st string offense was still in the game going into the 4th quarter. More @undisputed, now on FS1. https://t.co/dZZpmnaoBR

Both Bayless and Parsons have a point about what happened on Sunday night in New York, as both coaching staffs took unnecessary risks in a 40-point blowout, with 16 more games left to be played in the 2023 NFL season.
The Giants and Cowboys are expected to be playoff teams in a weak NFC this season, meaning the teams should be taking precautions to protect their players, but that clearly didn’t appear to be the case.
It’ll be interesting to see if these teams continue to make choices like these during this season and if it ends up proving costly.
