The Dallas Cowboys have a decision to make about Mike McCarthy.
Multiple reports state that he entered the season on the hot seat.
Missing the playoffs would be enough for any coach on the hot seat to lose his job.
However, the Cowboys have looked much better since Dak Prescott suffered a season-ending injury, and watching the players compete so hard made it seem like the players rallied behind McCarthy and didn’t want him gone.
Now, a report of the Chicago Bears being interested in his services has surfaced.
With that in mind, Skip Bayless took to X to share his theory on the matter.
Is it possible Mike McCarthy’s agent or his coaching friends leaked that the Bears are interested in him to further encourage Jerry to give him 3 more years?

The renowned pundit – and confessed Cowboys fan – believes that McCarthy’s agent may have leaked that report, which would pressure the Cowboys into giving him a new three-year deal.
That makes sense, and it wouldn’t be the first or last time we’ve seen something like that happen.
McCarthy’s tenure in charge of the Cowboys has been met with mixed reviews.
On the one hand, some stated that the team should’ve fired him after last year’s debacle in the playoffs, and he does have a long history of such shortcomings.
On the other hand, he’s still a Super Bowl-winning head coach, and the team has been competitive in the regular season more often than not.
