It seems like every night that Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani is breaking a new record.
The two-way star is doing things on a baseball field that have never been seen before.
He is elite at both hitting and pitching and his stats are proving as much.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Ohtani has recorded 100 hits and 100 strikeouts this season.
This is his third season accomplishing that feat and that is the most by any player in MLB history.
Last night, Shohei Ohtani recorded his 100th hit of the season. He now has 3 seasons with 100 hits and 100 pitching strikeouts in his career (2021, 2022 and 2023).

Adonis Terry achieved this feat back in 1887 and 1890.
It has taken over 100 years but the record has been broken.
Ohtani is having a historically good season for the third consecutive year.
He is the massive favorite to win AL MVP and could even find himself in Cy Young consideration.
Ohtani is coming off one of the best months of his career in June.
At the plate, he batted .394 with 15 home runs and 29 RBI.
He had an OPS of 1.444 for the month.
On the mound, he went 2-2 with a 3.26 ERA in 30.1 innings pitched.
Every time we think Ohtani cannot get any better he goes out and has a month like this.
You would think the Angels would be in playoff position due to the play of Ohtani.
But they find themselves 7.5 games out of first place in the division and 4.5 games out of the Wild Card.
If the Angels cannot turn it around throughout the rest of July they might be looking to move Ohtani at the trade deadline.
He is a free agent at season’s end and if the Angels are not going to make the playoffs they should get something for him.NEXT: MLB Insider Makes A Definitive Shohei Ohtani Claim
