Shohei Ohtani certainly brought his A-game with him on Thursday night.
The two-way phenom took the bump for the Los Angeles Angels and went seven innings and allowed just one run as the Halos finally put an end to their 14-game losing streak, defeating the Boston Red Sox, 5-2.
Ohtani played the role of stopper and got the Angels back to within 2.5 games of the Sox in the American League Wild Card race.
Ohtani was certainly on last night.
Codify Baseball tweeted a video of him striking out Rafael Devers on a 101-mph fastball, showing that the ace not only brought his A-game, but he brought the heat as well.

SHO-TIME!
Ohtani certainly put on a “Sho” last night.
He saved the Angels’ behinds and helped them finally win a game and make their losing skid a thing of the past.
There’s still hope for the Halos to turn it around and start winning some ballgames.
It all starts with Shohei.
The fact that he blew that pitch right by Devers, who is one of the best hitters in the game today, is impressive.
Ohtani never ceases to amaze us with the way he can throw gas on the mound and hit tape measure shots at the plate.
He had Devers completely fooled, and it was only a fastball.
Devers swung super hard at that pitch and had literally no chance to catch up to it.
Ohtani caught him by surprise for sure.
If you can fire a pitch that hard and get some of the best hitters in the game to swing and miss it, you’re doing something right.
Ohtani can do so many things, and that is just one of them.
