The Minnesota Timberwolves have played extremely well during the 2023-24 NBA season.
The organization is led by the trio of Anthony Edwards, Rudy Gobert, and Karl-Anthony Towns, as they continue to be one of the top teams in the league this season.
A key reason behind the Timberwolves’ regular-season success is the elevation of Anthony Edwards as a superstar.
Playing in the fourth season of his NBA career, Edwards has already established himself as one of the best scorers in the league.
Edwards’ scoring prowess was on full display against the Los Angeles Clippers.
He finished the game with 37 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists in 37 minutes of playing time.
The 22-year-old star’s incredible performance helped the Timberwolves register a terrific 118-100 win over the Clippers.
Upon seeing Edwards’ scoring showcase, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal compared him to two NBA legends, via NBA on TNT.
“He reminds me of a young D-Wade and a young Kobe. He’s going to score, he’s going to get his every time,” O’Neal said.

O’Neal claimed Edwards’ game reminds him of younger versions of Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant.
It’s a huge compliment for the Timberwolves star, as Wade and Bryant are among some of the most prolific players to ever grace the hardwood.
Considering the fact that Edwards is still in the fourth season of his NBA career, he is yet to hit the prime of his career.
This season, he is averaging 26.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game on 46.3% shooting from the field.
Thanks to Edwards’ terrific season, the Timberwolves are currently the third seed in the Western Conference with a 45-21 record.
Edwards is expected to lead the organization to a meaningful playoff run once the regular season is over.
