The Jacksonville Jaguars began the 2023 season with a 31-21 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
This victory solidified what many analysts thought about this team during the offseason.
Trevor Lawrence seemed to take another step forward as a passer, and all three phases of this team were in harmony.
A massive piece of their offense was the production of Calvin Ridley, which is something Shannon Sharpe believes will continue, in what he calls an upcoming “monster season.”
Calvin Ridley will have a monster season. Looking like he never left. #NFLKickoff #JagsColts

Ridley finished the game with eight receptions for 101 yards, which included a touchdown catch.
As Sharpe remarked, he believes Ridley looks like he “never left,” and his suspension did not seem to slow down his game.
Ridley was Lawrence’s favorite target of the day, leading the team in receptions and receiving yards.
If he stays healthy, not only can Ridley regain his spot as a WR1, but the Jaguars’ offense should continue to thrive.
Lawrence was one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in the last 20 years.
He might have struggled in year one, but he looks well on his way to becoming one of the NFL’s elites.
Of course, to be seen as a top-five quarterback, spectacular on-field play needs to be accompanied by a deep playoff run.
There is a lot of season left to be played, and one game is not an indication for the rest of the season.
However, if Ridley and Lawrence can continue this connection, there’s no telling what the ceiling might be for the Jaguars offense moving forward.
