The Indianapolis Colts have been up and down this season.
Shane Steichen’s team has flown under the radar for most of the campaign, yet they’re 4-5 and have a chance to make the playoffs.
That’s why, despite Sunday’s struggles, they will continue to roll with Joe Flacco for the time being.
When asked whether he still thought Flacco gave them the best chance to win, the head coach agreed (via James Boyd):
“Yeah, right now, yes,” he said.

However, the fact that he said “right now” could speak volumes about the situation.
Some thought the team was already done with Anthony Richardson, but it seems like they’re not ready to give up on him just yet.
The Colts are good enough to make the playoffs, even in spite of Richardson’s struggles.
Flacco is a proven veteran, and everybody knows what he can bring to the table.
The passing game should be more fluid with him behind center, but he’s also going to turn the ball over.
Also, he’s not the mobile player Richardson is, and picking up yards with his legs is pretty much out of the question at this point in his career.
If they truly believe in this group and their ability to win right away, they need to keep rolling with him.
But if the losses start mounting up and the playoffs look like a long shot, then they should turn back to their former No. 4 pick.
Richardson was always a high-risk/high-reward pickup, and they will need to be very patient with him going forward.
