The Indianapolis Colts made a big decision earlier in the week.
They decided to roll with the veteran Joe Flacco instead of Anthony Richardson.
Of course, this was met with mixed reviews.
On the one hand, Richardson had struggled mightily and didn’t look ready to be out there.
On the other hand, he was one year removed from being the No. 4 pick and expected to be their guy for the future.
Also, with Flacco struggling vs. the Minnesota Vikings, some thought Shane Steichen would turn back to Richardson.
That wasn’t the case.
As reported by James Boyd, Steichen claimed that Flacco is their starter “right now,” adding that he never considered rolling with Richardson during the game.

Flacco completed 16 of 27 passes for 179 yards, no touchdown, and one interception.
The team posted season lows in total yards (227), offensive points (six), and first downs (13).
They also posted their worst EPA/play on offense this season (-0.35).
Flacco is a proven veteran, and there will be growing pains with him.
Then again, Steichen might be right in the fact that he gives them the best chance to win at this particular moment.
The Colts are 4-5 and right in the playoff race, and the Vikings’ tough defense shouldn’t be a barometer.
If they feel they can actually compete this season, they should, by all means, stick with their veteran.
But if he starts to struggle or losses mount up, they have nothing to lose by dialing back to their promising youngster later in the year.
