Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder is having an incredible season and is leading his team to new heights.
On Thursday’s episode of Run It Back, former NBA player Lou Williams said that Gilgeous-Alexander is “the best point guard in basketball right now” and said that he has a true shot of winning his first MVP trophy at the end of the season.
He said that the team’s status in the West is only helping his cause and the fact that Gilgeous-Alexander has been consistent makes him sit toward the top of the list for Most Valuable Player.

His average for the season is 31.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists and Gilgeous-Alexander has been playing fantastically since the very start of the season.
However, he has been great for several years now but this season is different.
That’s because the Thunder are a much better team in 2023-24, currently the second seed in the West with a 37-17 record.
It feels as if the team is finally delivering on all the promise it has had for years.
The front office has been slowly but surely accumulating a ton of youthful talent and now that the team is fully healthy, it’s very hard to slow down.
At the center of it all is Gilgeous-Alexander, who consistently plays with great energy, lightning-fast reflexes, and decision-making skills.
Gilgeous-Alexander will have a lot of competition for MVP.
With Joel Embiid just out of the picture, Nikola Jokic is going to put up quite a fight, as will Luka Doncic and Jayson Tatum too.
But Gilgeous-Alexander is now firmly a part of the conversation and, more importantly, his team has a great chance at going far into the postseason.
