The Buffalo Bills are riding high after clinching the No. 2 seed in the AFC with a dominant 40-14 victory over the New York Jets.
Now, all eyes turn to their final regular-season matchup against the New England Patriots – a game that holds little significance for Buffalo but carries massive draft implications for New England.
One loss could hand the Patriots the coveted first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sean McDermott, Buffalo’s head coach, recently shed light on his plans for the Patriots game.
Rather than completely resting his starters, McDermott’s opting for a balanced approach.
Star quarterback Josh Allen will make a brief appearance before heading to the sidelines for the day.
“You’ll see some starters out there playing and you’ll see some other players who we wanna take a good look at. So, it’ll be a blend of both,” McDermott explained. “Josh Allen will be out there for a very very short lived amount of time and then he’ll be off rather quickly… I can promise you that it’s gonna be a blend of guys who are normally out there and then a mix of some guys who we want to take a look at as well.”

The Bills (13-3) have put together a remarkable season, achieving something special by going undefeated at home – a feat they’ve managed only twice before in their storied history, back in 1988 and 1990, per ESPN.
Josh Allen’s been the driving force behind their success. His performance against the Jets was just another highlight in his stellar season, as he connected for two passing touchdowns while adding another score on the ground.
At just 28 years old, he’s carved his name into NFL history by becoming the first player to record 40+ rushing and passing touchdowns in five straight seasons.
