There have been rumors that Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf might be on the trading block.
But letting him go would be a huge mistake.
They might not be as competitive this season, especially in a challenging NFC West.
Gone are the days when they dominated the division with Russell Wilson and their “Legion of Boom” defense.
However, Metcalf is one of the few assets they have left, and they may have difficulty replacing him.
The Seahawks took a chance when nobody wanted to draft him and got more than expected.
Therefore, they must keep him long-term, as NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported.
Sources: #Seahawks and #Titans are both motivated to get extensions done with DK Metcalf and A.J. Brown — properly viewing them as franchise cornerstones — because that’s exactly what they are!

Schultz tweeted, “Sources: #Seahawks and #Titans are both motivated to get extensions done with DK Metcalf and A.J. Brown — properly viewing them as franchise cornerstones — because that’s exactly what they are!”
With the NFL being a passing league, having a talented wide receiver is part of the winning equation.
Luckily, the Seahawks have a solid duo in Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.
Of all the misses they had in the draft, at least they had their receiving corps right.
Landing a franchise quarterback via the draft might be difficult, but they’ve done it before with Wilson.
If they can’t draft one, free agent play-callers might consider playing with Metcalf if they retain him.
Metcalf Comes With A High Price Tag
The Seahawks must accept that retaining Metcalf won’t come cheap, especially after the deals signed by Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams.
In this situation, the wide receiver has the leverage because he can simply leave if he can’t get his asking price.
Otherwise, the Seahawks must meet his demand if they want him to stay.
Therefore, are they willing to pay the premium for Metcalf?
