The New Orleans Saints successfully brought Tyrann Mathieu home.
The All-Pro safety officially joined his hometown team after signing a three-year, $33 million contract.
Mathieu will join a loaded secondary that has Pro Bowl cornerback Marshon Lattimore, Marcus Maye, Paulson Adebo, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson.
Last season, the Saints finished seventh in total yards allowed at 318.2 per game.
With Mathieu’s addition, the Saints’ defense has the chance to become the league’s best.
After all, they also have Cameron Jordan on the defensive line and Demario Davis as a linebacker.
But to welcome the New Orleans native, the Saints had a simple but profound tweet.

All the Saints needed was an emoji of a honey jar and a badger to announce Mathieu’s signing.
Football fans would know that the nine-year NFL veteran is regarded as “Honey Badger” because of his ability to make plays against bigger opponents.
He’s still the same tenacious defensive back that New Orleans residents have seen throughout his life.
Last season, he had 60 solo tackles, three interceptions, and a sack for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Mathieu will bring the same intensity to the Saints as they seek a postseason return.
The Son Of New Orleans
Mathieu has been in Louisiana for most of his life.
He was born in The Big Easy and played high school football at St. Augustine.
He also played two seasons for Les Miles at Louisiana State University.
However, he was dismissed from the Tigers due to a violation of team rules.
Despite that setback, he has established a successful NFL career since the Arizona Cardinals drafted him in 2013.
The Saints will be his fourth NFL team after playing for the Chiefs and the Houston Texans.
