Current New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has not had the best of luck in his coaching career.
In 49 career games as an NFL head coach, Allen has a record of 12-37.
Dennis Allen records by year
2022: 4-9 (and counting)
At some point you can't argue against those numbers.

Allen has a long history with the Saints organization.
He worked with them from 2006-2010, with roles as the secondary coach as well as the assistant defensive line coach.
While he went to Oakland to coach the Raiders for a brief two-and-a-half-year stint, he ultimately returned to the Saints in 2015.
Since then, he has been the senior defensive assistant and defensive coordinator before being promoted to head coach for the 2022 NFL season.
His 4-9 record has not inspired confidence in him for the long haul as a head coach, although, he has been dealt a tough hand.
The Current State Of The Saints
The Saints are 4-9 and are currently sitting at the bottom of the NFC South.
While not having an excellent record in his coaching career as a whole, Allen and the Saints have had to deal with many injuries this season, making it difficult to gain any momentum.
The Saints have two receivers on injured reserve, Michael Thomas and Deonte Harty.
Both were slated to be key play-makers for this offense, but their injuries have kept them off of the field for longer than they’ve been on it.
Allen has had to deal with the injury bug this season.
Will the Saints’ front office give him another chance in 2023 to turn the team around?
