The Detroit Lions defeated the Green Bay Packers 34-31 in a thrilling shootout on Thursday night.
Detroit’s record is now 12-1, and it is in prime position for a deep playoff run.
However, that has not changed the mind of former NFL safety and current ESPN analyst Ryan Clark, who believes the Philadelphia Eagles are the best team in the conference.
“The Philadelphia Eagles are the best team (in the NFC). Without a doubt. I have no problem saying that…Defensively, this team to me is head and shoulders above what the Detroit Lions are,” Clark said Friday morning on Get Up.

Clark did make sure to give Dan Campbell and the Lions their flowers for continuing to win games in so many ways.
However, he appears to believe that the Eagles have a higher ceiling based on their playmakers, especially on defense.
As things stand right now, the Eagles currently rank first in the NFL in total defense (282.8 yards per game allowed).
They have stars at every level of their defense, with young defensive tackle Jalen Carter, veteran edge-rusher Brandon Graham, linebacker Nakobe Dean, and defensive backs Darius Slay and Cooper DeJean all leading the way.
It also helps to have many Pro Bowl-caliber players in the offensive huddle on almost every snap.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts, running back Saquon Barkley, and wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith make up an excellent cast for the offensive-minded Sirianni.
This team has a chance to bring glory to Philadelphia again because of its depth on both sides of the ball.
