After the Denver Broncos missed the playoffs yet again this season, there has been lots of speculation that they will part ways with veteran quarterback Russell Wilson.
The future Hall of Famer put up better numbers this year than he did last year in his maiden voyage with the Broncos, but the team simply hasn’t had the talent around him to win.
It appears Wilson is getting closer to becoming an ex-Bronco, as per BusinessDen via Dov Kleiman on Twitter, he’s apparently in the process of selling his Denver area mansion.

Wilson was traded to Denver nearly two years ago by the Seattle Seahawks, and in 10 seasons with the Seahawks, he led them to a Super Bowl championship while coming very close to another one.
In 2022, he threw for 3,524 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while completing just 60.5 percent of his pass attempts, and many felt he was past his sell-by date.
But in 2023, he put up a 66.4 percent completion percentage, 26 touchdown passes, and a 98.0 passer rating, compared to an 84.4 passer rating in 2022.
Under first-year head coach Sean Payton, who had previously coached Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints to a Super Bowl championship, the Broncos offense performed better in 2023 than in 2022, but its skill players simply aren’t excellent enough to elevate them.
With Wilson’s cap hit increasing by the year, this appears to be a good time for Denver to cut their losses and build organically.
They haven’t made the playoffs since the 2015 campaign, which also happens to be the last time they won it all.
