The Denver Nuggets rallied to get a massive win at home
They handed the Oklahoma City Thunder their first loss of the season and proved that they could hold their own against a championship contender.
To make it all the more impressive, Mike Malone’s team was missing two key contributors, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.
Notably, Russell Westbrook turned back the clock and had his best game in a Nuggets uniform, scoring 29 points on 10-of-15 shooting and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc to go along with six rebounds, six assists, and one steal.
Following the win, the OKC legend showed his confidence in his new team, stating they might have the better team, even if their record doesn’t reflect that yet (via Altitude TV).

The Nuggets have gotten off to a slow start to the season.
Jamal Murray’s regression is worrisome, to say the least, as he’s been Nikola Jokic’s most reliable sidekick for years now.
Jokic continues to do Jokic things, dominating on offense and even becoming a disruptive defender in the restricted area, but the rest of the team needs to pick up the slack.
The Nuggets have some intriguing young players, like Julian Strawther, Christian Braun, and Peyton Watson.
If Murray continues to struggle, they will all be asked to step up their game.
Still, Jokic is too good to count this team out after a slow start to the season.
They just need to get it going.
