Russell Westbrook is one of the greatest NBA players, and not just of his generation.
As controversial as he might be as both a person and a player, there’s just no way to deny that he’s accomplished more in the league than most players before him.
The former Oklahoma City Thunder star kept making history, this time climbing his way up on the league’s all-time scoring list.
With just eight points in the Los Angeles Clippers win over the Miami Heat, Westbrook became the NBA’s No. 25 all-time leading scorer, joining the likes of LeBron James and Oscar Robertson as the only three players in the top-25 in scoring and top-10 in assists (via Joey Linn & Legion Hoops).

Westbrook has now scored 24,821 career points, trailing only James Harden, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James among active players.
He also has 9,312 assists, the ninth-most in NBA history.
Only LeBron James and Chris Paul have handed out more assists than him among active players, and there’s a slim chance he could pass Oscar Robertson for No. 8 on that list.
Westbrook is a former MVP, and one of just two players to average a triple-double for a season.
He may not have won an NBA championship yet and chances are he never will.
But he’s still one of the fiercest competitors and most athletic and impressive specimens to ever lace them up, and he deserves way more respect and credit than what he gets.
